garden

My mom and I are growing a garden this year.  I actually should say that we are hopefully growing a garden this year...it has been a bit soggy here in the wonderful Pacific Northwest and should the sun begin to shine sometime soon we may have some yummy produce.  We check the garden regularly to see if anything has sprouted and to make sure the plants haven't drowned, turned brown or yellow.  So far, only the peppers have sprouted.  The tomatoes look like they might sprout soon.  I am afraid some of the cucumbers and basil have bit the dust, however.

Keep in mind that our garden is very elementary, though.  We don't have fancy tags, or boarders, or boxes or pretty flowers.  We have a big dirt box with plants.  And when we get to do the first harvest, I am going to be SO excited that we may just have a garden harvest party.

Once we get one season under our belt, we may just upgrade to something like what Brooke Giannetti of Velvet & Linen has created...

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it!  It has so much personality and is just beautiful.  Maybe next year, mom, we can be fashionable and functional all at the same time?  What say you?
