I am busily trying to finish up my work so that I can head back to Seattle tomorrow to finally hand over the keys to the new tenant.  I will be so relived when this is project is over and I don't have to make another trip to Seattle for a year.  Being a landlord is for the birds!

this is how I feel today

While I am in Seattle, Ron is going to continue working on the soon-to-be patio in the backyard.  As a I mentioned in my prior posts the yard and flower beds are completely overgrown from when we bought the house.  We are working on one small project at a time and finally getting to the gianormous flower bed in the backyard.  I mean, we are talking like 10x15--huge!  Long story short, we are making it into a large patio.  It sounded like a fabulous idea at the start because I thought we would just throw down some brick.  After a lot of research there is a serious amount of prep work that needs to be done before laying the brick.  You know, like dig down 8 inches.  We are hoping that by the time I return home we can lay the base rock, sand and begin to level it out.

dig, dig, dig

The dogs have sure enjoyed the sun and being able to have the doors open so they can come and go as they please.

  1. Hope your trip to Seattle went well!

Seeing your photos of your garden and your flower bed make me wish I had a green thumb! Gardening seems so peaceful and almost meditative to me...someday I will have a large yard and try my hand at it. :)

    Your pups are so cute!

Hope you're having a good weekend.
