I am a complete sucker for dishes in all shapes and sizes and I don't believe that China is for "special" and others are for everyday use. This probably because I rarely hold special enough events that would warrant bringing out the "special" dishes! Dishes can add that extra bit of life to the dinning table. And since generally, you don't want to have an elaborate display as your centerpiece that blocks the the view of the guests on the other side of the table, dishes are a nice way to keep things interesting.
When I got married about five years ago, I had my heart set on
Kate Spade's St. Kitts Dogwood dinner plates. They are still my everyday dish and I love how versatile and timeless.
I currently pair them with a floral accent plate by Kate Spade, which appear to be no longer available on Macy's or on Kate Spade's website. They came in four colors and I love to mix and match them for an added bit of color.
However, I think I am now ready to introduce something new to my collection. A little less matchy, matchy, I think. I have compiled a few accent plates that made it to the top of my must-have list. Now to the hard part is to decide which design to choose or if I should do a compilation of multiple designs.
