weekend recap

This is post is going to be a big brain dump from the weekend.  I don't really have the strength for much else!

So lets start with Friday.  My mom and I hit up the Nordstrom's Sale and were quite disappointed which made our wallets happy.  We had coffee, ran some errands and came home only to begin discussing buying chickens with Ron (husband).  This ultimately led to Ron measuring our old dog run area to see if it was enough space for a coop, followed by a run to the pet store to see what the heck was involved in owing chickens and how much it would cost to get going.  There is so much to know that we decided to leave the pet store empty handed and read up on them a bit more before jumping in.  The idea fizzled out and we moved on to Saturday.

Saturday I went to the Farmers Market.  There is hardly anything at the market right now because the weather has been so crappy that nothing is growing--just drowning in all the rain.  Ron and I saw Bridesmaides in the afternoon.  It is hi-larious and everyone should go see it.  While we were at the mall we went to a new store (new to Spokane) called Olive and Vinegar.  Holy crap they have out-of-this-world stuff.  We sampled everything in the store and finally left with a housewarming gift for Ron's business partner whom invited us for dinner that evening.

My kids and their cousins supervising the project.

Cooper was totally over supervising.

Sunday the weather was actually semi-decent.  I think it managed to hit like 65...bust out the bathing suites!  That is how excited I get when I see the sun and it gets out of the 50's!  We tackled the yard which seems like a never ending freaking project.  I despise yard work to the highest degree.  Since we have only been in this house for about a year we needed to repair some of our sprinklers.  I suggested we give it a go before calling an expert.  Needless to say we spent Sunday and Monday repairing every single line and were covered from head to toe in mud.  Literally.  It was disgusting.  But, this year we will have nice green grass, the plants will stay alive and the garden will grow.  Yea for us!

We had to call in the parents for some advice--this was day 1 so everyone
was still talking!

And now it's Tuesday and I am sore, sore, sore.  I feel like I was beat up and then run over and left for dead.  I am trying to navigate my way through email and work projects, twitter updates and laundry.  A mixed pot of crap.  I am sure something far more inspiring will be coming down the pike for tomorrow.  Sit tight!

Hope you all had a restful and fun weekend!
