m.i.a

The past few weeks have been filled with court trials, client appointments and business travel which has left little time to do anything besides work. Boo. Then during all the work chaos, we closed on a new home (yippee!!) and had a tenant move out of the rental home that is 4 hrs away. Let's just say, I will not be sad to see April come to a close.

Today is the first Monday in the new home and I can barely concentrate as I sit amongst boxes of crap that needs to be sifted through. I'm quite positive that most of it is junk and I think it is so funny that I have taken the time to pack it up and lug all the way from Seattle to Georgia, where it sat in the garage for year and then to Spokane where it sat untouched for another year to the new house. And during the past 2 years I have not missed a thing that was in these boxes. To be quite honest, I have no idea what is even in them! I am, however, looking forward to the many projects that await my attention at this home--the painting, the decorating, the yard, the garden and even the 'estate' sale I plan to host.

Over the weekend we made a quick trip to Seattle to check on the rental home. The tenant that lived in the house the past 2 years was a complete disaster. I would say disaster is a nice way of describing her. Actually, I absolutely hated her and was so happy to see her lease come to an end. And boy or boy she went out with a bang, leaving the home in chaos. I honestly have never seen a home so disgusting in all my life. I am not sure that even if I tried really hard to be messy and gross that I could come up with the concoction that she had going on. The health department would have definitely shut this place down. Oh and the bathroom...yea..lets just say that bathrooms in general make me sick, but this one was oh so raunchy. I'm pretty sure it might beyond repair. I think germs have been eating it away.

The absolutely amazing part about this whole experience is that the day before we drove to Seattle she left me a rambling voicemail about all the cleaning she did and that it took her 2 whole days to get the house spick and span and that all her junk was gone and whoa's me my socks would be knocked off when I came to check on things. WRONG. DEAD ASS WRONG. She failed to mention the CAR she left me, the sleeper sofa, the loads of car batteries, and her Christmas trees from the past 2 years. Thank heavens for damage deposits.

I digress...basically the last few weeks have been tiring, yet exciting, yet stressful, yet almost over. I am back, back home for a bit. So happy.
